Bible Training in French: A Complete Curriculum for Pastors Worldwide
From Haiti to Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Benin, and in French-speaking communities as far as France, Canada, and even in the USA, thousands of pastors lead growing churches with little or no formal biblical education. Seminary is often out of reach: too expensive, too far away, or taught in a language that isn't theirs. BTCP's pastor-training curriculum, fully translated into French, exists to close that gap, putting sound, in-depth Bible training directly into local churches at a cost most pastors can actually afford.
A Complete Curriculum, Ready in French
Every part of the BTCP program, from foundational coursework to full pastoral certification, is available in French today. The curriculum offers three tracks so that training fits the calling and context of each student:
BTCP (10 courses) — full pastoral certification for men who meet the biblical qualifications for pastors outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
BTCL (8 courses) — Bible Training for Church Leaders, open to any committed disciple, including women and lay leaders
BTCI (5 courses) — a foundational overview of Scripture, doctrine, and ministry
Rather than a classroom lecture hall, each course happens in a local, life-on-life setting, no exams, no tuition debt, and no years spent away from a church or family. Students work directly through Scripture alongside a local instructor, applying what they learn as they go.
Already Reaching Thousands Across West Africa and Haiti
French-language BTCP training isn't a new or unproven effort. For several decades, it has grown into a network of nearly 1,000 classes across more than 30 countries, run by dozens of different ministry partners, each bringing the same curriculum into their own community.
One example among many: Gamene Moumini, who completed BTCP training in Burkina Faso over 20 years ago, has since helped open new training centers in cities like Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, drawing students from many denominations. Graduates from centers like his have gone on to start similar programs in Congo and Chad, part of a broader pattern across West Africa of graduates multiplying the training into new communities. In Haiti, the story looks different but the pattern is the same. Pastors leading congregations of 300 to 800 members, many without any formal Bible training, have completed BTCP's two-year program in numbers that have surprised even the local leaders running it: when one class opened a second cohort, 60 pastors applied for just 12 spots. A Curriculum That Travels
French-speaking ministry reaches well past West Africa and Haiti. BTCP's French curriculum is also active in France, Canada, Germany, and the USA, often among pastors and congregations facing the same underlying barriers as their counterparts overseas, cost, distance, and a lack of theological training available in their own language.
